Frequently Asked Questions

What are all these policies and T&Cs, what do they mean?

The Terms & Conditions are the legal framework within which we collectively need to operate as a marketplace platform (Vroom Classics), Sellers and Customers. They describe our mutual obligations to each other as well as our mutual protections, as required by UK law. We are not allowed to operate as a marketplace platform without communicating these terms and conditions to all our stakeholders.

The policies describe how we choose to operate and govern Vroom Classics as a marketplace platform for ourselves, our Sellers and our Customers. They go beyond the base legal framework of the T&Cs and describe how we want all stakeholders to operate and behave.

You are under no obligation to accept any of these T&Cs or Policies, but rejecting them means that you cannot use vroomclassics.com in any way, shape or form.

What's the punchline of all these T&Cs?

You must read the documents to ensure you understand your rights and obligations, but very basically:

Vroom Classics is a UK-based online marketplace, so we are obliged to operate under UK legal jurisdiction so all participants need to know what that means.

Our policies try hard to be Seller-friendly, to support and empower our Sellers and to make them more productive so that they can reduce costs and prices.

We bias towards trusting our Sellers and Customers, but we use data to assess trustworthiness objectively and continuously. We hold a high bar for our community and will not tolerate bad actors.

These documents are very daunting, should I be nervous of working with Vroom Classics?

We're sorry if you feel daunted, but these documents are a legal obligation on us so that you know we're legit. We hope this FAQ section will help you navigate them and feel reassured.

Vroom Classics is trying hard to do right by our Sellers and our Customers, to make everyone more productive so that we can remove as much avoidable operating cost from serving customer demand.

From a customer perspective, the legalese is ostensibly a description of our obligations (Vroom Classics as a platform and Sellers as vendors) to customers, and vice versa.

From a Seller perspective, we hope that the legalese describes a framework that makes it easy to conduct business.

What is your returns, refunds and cancellation policy?

We take the position of empowering Sellers to set your own policies here, and it is a legal obligation to communicate your policy explicitly to customers before they make any purchase (otherwise your policy is void). If you choose not to set your own policy, the policy is set at the UK legal minimum (which itself sets a relatively high bar). Sellers will ultimately compete for sales in part on these terms, so we encourage them to set the most generous policies possible. Customers will thank you.

What happens to your commission if a customer gets a refund? Am I out of pocket as a Seller?

No, you're not out of pocket. If a customer is eligible for a refund, then we will refund our commission and any other fees that we charged in that sale.
