Ayrton Senna in the McLaren MP4/4 at the 1988 Monaco GP 1988 - Limited Edition Giclee Print
"Character building."
This drawing captures Ayrton Senna tackling Loewes hairpin during the 1988 Monaco GP in his all-conquering McLaren MP4/4 Honda, a race from which he'd ultimately retire after crashing into the barriers at Portier corner while over 50s ahead of his second-placed team mate, Alain Prost. Senna would later describe his race-ending mistake as transformational to his approach to racing, and he would never make such a mistake ever again.
