James Hunt in the 1976 McLaren M23 - Limited Edition Giclee Print
James Hunt in the 1976 McLaren M23 - Limited Edition Giclee Print
"The Playboy Champion."
This drawing captures James Hunt driving the 1976 McLaren M23 during his Championship-winning campaign. WIth a reputation as a louche playboy, James Hunt could not have been more different from his main rival, the clinical and professional Niki Lauda. Hunt put together a robust, consistent if unspectacular campaign to be in Championship contention at the season finale in Fuji, a race in which he would finish 3rd in monsoon conditions. It was enough to claim the Championship after his rival, Niki Lauda, abandoned the race due to the dangerous conditions.
