The Iceman's First Win - Limited Edition Giclee Print
“The Iceman's First Win!”
This drawing captures Kimi Raikkonen, aka the Iceman, driving the McLaren MP4-17D en route to his first victory in F1 at the 2003 Malaysian GP.
Debuting in 2001 with Sauber, Raikkonen was a particularly precocious talent having contested only 23 car races in his career prior to F1. But Sauber's decision was quickly vindicated, and McLaren swooped for Raikkonen to replace the retiring Mika Hakkinen. His 2003 season was particularly strong, thanks in part to a competitive McLaren-Mercedes, and he finished 2003 as runner up to Michael Schumacher despite only winning the Malaysian GP. 2003 was a vintage year for Raikkonen, and marked him as a clear future World Champion.
